Donation Policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This policy explains how donations made through Diwali Wishes are received, verified and used. Donations are received by Diwali Wishes.
1. How donations are received
- Donations are made by UPI to our BharatPe account, using the QR code or UPI ID shown on the donation page.
- We do not use any other payment gateway, and we will never ask for your UPI PIN, OTP or card details.
- Always check that the payee name shown in your UPI app matches the name on our donation page before paying.
2. Verification
- After paying, you submit a confirmation form with your UPI transaction reference (UTR).
- An administrator manually matches each confirmation with our BharatPe/bank statement.
- Confirmations remain pending until verified. Confirmations that cannot be matched may be marked rejected.
- Our public donation totals include only verified donations.
3. How donations are used
Donations are used for our Diwali food donation drive as described on the active campaign on the donation page. We do not use donations to pay for running this website.
4. Separation from advertising
This website earns advertising revenue to cover its running costs. Advertising revenue and donations are recorded and accounted for separately, and no advertising is shown on the donation page.
5. Tax status
Unless explicitly stated on the donation page, donations are not eligible for income-tax deductions (for example under Section 80G), and we do not issue tax-exemption receipts.
6. Refunds
If you paid an incorrect amount or made a duplicate payment, please contact us within 7 days with your UPI transaction reference. Verified refunds are returned to the original UPI account.
7. Your information
Details submitted with a donation are used only to verify and record it, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you choose to keep your name private, we will not display it publicly.
